Project Abstract
The challenge being seletcted by our group is 'Meaningful
applications for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) e.g. MiniERP,
Accounting and microcredit applications'. We have decided to develop
software for Clinics and Hospitals. It would be a complete Medical
Practice Management System. Following Modules will be part of the
application:
1. Billing
2. Patient Records
3. Accounting and Inventory(Medicines) Tracking
4. Insurance Biling
5. Human Resources module for better employee management
6. An Extranet will be developed which would link all hospitals, blood
bank and government agencies, for Disaster Management.
The main purpose of the software would be simplifying the handling of
day-to-day administrative and financial tasks thereby improving the
efficiency. Even in today's electronic age, hospitals manage only
fraction of the task through computers, the rest being done manually.
Unnecesary time and resources are wasted in doing those jobs which would
otherwise be done very quickly through computers. The goal of our
project would be to streamline all the processes so that the clinics can
concentrate on giving maximum satisfaction to patients. This software
would be ideally suited for large clinics or small hospitals.
